Surrey Art Gallery Association is a non-profit society dedicated to supporting Surrey Art Gallery and local artists.
As an advocate for the Gallery, the Surrey Art Gallery Association (SAGA) raises funds and operates programs which complement those presented by Gallery staff. Surrey Art Gallery Association members also encourage public education in the visual arts and support visual artists living in the area. Proceeds from the Surrey Art Gallery Association’s fundraising activities contribute to the Gallery’s exhibitions, publications, programs and projects, including acquiring artworks for the permanent collection and supporting the development of the Gallery’s TechLab and UrbanScreen.
The Surrey Art Gallery Association believes that contemporary art provides all people with an opportunity to reflect upon our culture, our society, and the issues and ideas of our time. As such, it is important that the residents of our young, growing city have access to our visual cultural heritage.
The Surrey Art Gallery Association’s efforts play an essential role in realizing these goals through the events and services provided, and by actively supporting the programs of Surrey Art Gallery. SAGA is a member of the Volunteer Committees of Art Museums, the Canadian Federation of Friends of the Museums, and the Arts Council of Surrey.
