Sept. 9, 2021 | Thursday Artist Talk | Joseph P. Ghabi

Hear how a local artist combines painting and healing in his vivid paintings in this Thursday Artist Talk presented by Surrey Art Gallery Association.

In 2017, at the age of fifty-five, Joseph P. Ghabi left the academic world of engineering and computer science to start painting. “If I can do it, so can you!” he quips. Since then, he has produced over 400 paintings. Working by intuition, Ghabi paints bold, powerful works primarily in acrylic that feature intense colours and strong contrasts. There is a sense of play, energy, and joy in his creations. He loves experimenting and everything he paints is an expression of himself.

Ghabi’s focus is to bring a new form of healing through painting, using meditation and Blueprint Numerology. Ghabi says, “Numbers have vibrations, words have vibrations, and colours have vibrations.” In this talk, Ghabi will share his journey towards becoming an artist and describe how healing and painting go hand-in-hand for him.

There will be time for Q&A after the talk.
